LEADING THE WAY. HEY, GOOD MORNING EVERYONE. I’M MEGAN MITCHELL HERE WITH METEOROLOGIST KATIE DONOVAN KATIE. I ALWAYS LOVE TO REFER BACK TO A YEAR AND A HALF AGO WHEN I SAID, ALL RIGHT, THIS IS MY LAST WEEKEND MORNING EVER. AND HERE I AM. YES. BACK AGAIN. WE LOVE IT. WE DO LOVE IT BECAUSE, YOU KNOW WHAT? WE’RE BACK HOME. WE’RE DOING OUR THING. WE ARE LOOKING AT SOME POTENTIAL STORMS FOR TODAY. YES. STORMS LOVE DOING IT. I KNOW WE NEED THE MOISTURE. WE REALLY DO ACTUALLY. SO DRY. YEAH, YEAH. SO WE ARE IN A MODERATE DROUGHT NOW IN SOME PARTS OF THE AREA, BUT WE ARE LOOKING AT MORE IMPACTFUL STORMS TO MOVE THROUGH THE REGION THIS AFTERNOON. THANKFULLY, SOME OF THEM CONTAINING SOME HEAVY RAIN. WE COULD ALSO BE DEALING WITH SOME GUSTY WIND POTENTIAL AS WELL. WE’VE GOT A COUPLE OF SPRINKLES, EVEN SOME LIGHT SHOWERS PUSHING INTO CARROLL AND GALLATIN COUNTY. THAT’S ABOUT IT. ELSEWHERE, MOSTLY DRY, BUT BACK TO THE WEST. ADDITIONAL WET WEATHER ON THE WAY. AND THAT’S ALL COMING IN WITH THE COLD FRONT SO YOU CAN SEE SOME FREQUENT LIGHTNING HERE. WE’RE LOOKING AT SOME THUNDERSTORMS BACK TO THE WEST, AND THESE DEVELOP AND PUSH OUR WAY AS WE GO THROUGH THE MIDDLE PART OF THE AFTERNOON. AND AGAIN, COULD BE SEEING SOME STRONGER STORMS OUT OF THOSE, MAYBE SOME GUSTY WINDS CAUSE OF HEAVY RAIN AND FREQUENT LIGHTNING. WARM START TO THE MORNING WITH TEMPERATURES OF AROUND 79 TO 80 FOR MOST COMMUNITIES. ABOUT 80 IN CINCINNATI RIGHT NOW, FAIRFIELD AT 80, WE HAVE ABOUT 80 IN DELHI, 79 IN CONNERSVILLE, INDIANA. COOLER SPOT AT 77. IN FALMOUTH, THOUGH MOST PLACES PICKING UP THE LOW 80S FOR THOSE MORNING TEMPERATURES. IT’S ABOUT 78 RIGHT NOW IN PEEBLES. HUMIDITY IS EXTREMELY HIGH THIS MORNING. IF YOU WALK OUTSIDE, IT FEELS I MEAN, JUST LIKE TROPICAL, VERY MUCH LIKE FLORIDA. THIS MORNING. WE’VE GOT TEMPERATURES IN THE DEW POINT RANGE OF AROUND 70 TO 72. SO THAT’S THE POINT WHERE YOU COULD TAKE A STRAW AND YOU COULD DRINK THE AIR. IT’S JUST THAT HEAVY THIS MORNING WHEN YOU FACTOR THAT IN TO TEMPERATURES ON THE 90S THIS AFTERNOON, WE’RE LOOKING AT A HEAT INDEX POTENTIAL NEAR 100 LATER TODAY. SO IT’S GOING TO BE EXTREMELY HOT. I THINK STORMS PROVIDING LITTLE RELIEF. THEY’RE GOING TO BE PRETTY SCATTERED WHERE WE DO SEE STORMS. IT’S GOING TO COOL THINGS OFF BRIEFLY. BUT YOU KNOW, IF THE SUN POPS BACK OUT, WE’RE LOOKING AT A LOT OF, YOU KNOW, STEAMY WEATHER FOLLOWING THAT. SO THE HYDE PARK BLAST HAPPENING TODAY. THINGS GET STARTED AT SEVEN THERE. REALLY FUN EVENT. WE HAVE STRAY SHOWERS FOR THAT POINT IN THE MORNING AND THEN SCATTERED STORMS PICKING UP ANY TIME AFTER ONE 2:00 TODAY. I WOULD SAY CLOSER TO TWO, THREE, FOUR IS WHEN WE’RE SEEING MORE ORGANIZED, POTENTIALLY STRONG STORMS PUSHING THROUGH THE AREA, LINGERING SHOWERS AS YOU HEAD TOWARDS 8:00. BUT HOTTEST PART OF THE DAY SOMETIME BETWEEN ABOUT TWO AND 5:00 THIS EVENING, WE’LL TALK ABOUT A TIMELINE AND THREATS FOR THOSE STORMS TODAY, AND WE’LL LOOK AHEAD TO MORE REFRESHING WEATHER AS YOU MAKE YOUR WAY THROUGH YOUR SUNDAY. COMING UP, MEGAN. ALL RIGHT. KATIE, THANK YOU. 603 RIGHT NOW, LEADING THE WAY WITH BREAKING NEWS, A PERSON IS INJURED AFTER BEING HIT BY A VEHICLE ON THE HIGHWAY. HAMILTON COUNTY DISPATCH TELLS US A PEDESTRIAN WAS HIT WHILE WALKING ON 71 NORTH, JUST NEAR RIDGE AVENUE BEFORE 230. THIS MORNING. THE VICTIM WAS TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL. THEIR CONDITION ISN’T KNOWN. OFFICIALS HAVE REOPENED THAT FAR LEFT LANE, ALLOWING TRAFFIC TO FLOW THROUGH. A WILD SCENE OUTSIDE OF CINCINNATI’S ICONIC MUSIC HALL, A MAN SUSPECTED OF STABBING A WOMAN SHOT AND KILLED BY POLICE. NOW THE NEIGHBOR WHO SAVED THE WOMAN’S LIFE IS SPEAKING OUT, AND WLWT NEWS FIVE’S RICHARD CHILES LIVE FOR US THIS MORNING WITH WHAT SHE’S SAYING. RICHARD. NOW, MEGAN. GOOD MORNING. YOU KNOW, YOU TALK ABOUT HEROES AMONGST US. I HOPE THAT WE ALL HAVE THE COURAGE TO STEP AHEAD. LIKE MARIANNE LIESMAN WHEN WE SEE SOMEONE IN A CRITICAL SITUATION AROUND US. NOW, LIESMAN AGAIN, TAKING ACTION IMMEDIATELY WHEN SHE SAW A WOMAN BEING STABBED, BEING ATTACKED. CINCINNATI POLICE TELL US THAT JUAN MACK STABBING A WOMAN IN WESTWOOD, LIESMAN, IN THE GARAGE AT THE TIME OF THE HAPPENING LIESMAN. SHE’S TRAINED AS A NURSE. SHE SAW THE WOMAN WALK UP TO HER GARAGE, SAYS THE SUSPECT. MR. MACK FOLLOWED HER, STARTED STABBING HER LIESMAN SAYS SHE FOUND THE VICTIM LAYING IN THE GARAGE IN HER GARAGE ON THE FLOOR, ASKING FOR HELP. DESPERATELY LIESMAN SAYS. IN FACT, MACK WALKED RIGHT PAST HER BEFORE TAKING OFF. NOW CINCINNATI POLICE LATER CONFRONTED MACK NEAR MUSIC HALL BODY CAMERA VIDEO SHOWS MACK POINTING A GUN AT OFFICERS AFTER THEY ORDERED HIM TO DROP THE WEAPON. THREE OFFICERS THEN OPENED FIRE, KILLING MACK. NOW. MEANWHILE, AT THE SCENE OF THE STABBING, LIESMAN SAYS SHE STARTED LIFE SAVING MEASURES AND CPR TO SAVE THE WOMAN’S LIFE, WHILE HER PARTNER CALLED 911. I JUST DID WHAT I WAS TRAINED TO DO AND PUT TOWELS ON IT AND PRESSURE UNTIL THE POLICE GOT HERE AND THEN THE PARAMEDICS TOOK HER TO THE HOSPITAL. NOW THAT STABBING VICTIM REMAINS IN CRITICAL CONDITION, BUT THIS SCENARIO COULD HAVE BEEN FAR WORSE AS POLICE CHIEF THERESA REFLECTED AGAIN, LIFE SAVING MEASURES GIVEN. OF COURSE, MISS LIESMAN CERTAINLY REPRESENTS THE BEST IN ALL OF US STEPPING UP TO HELP SAVE A LIFE IN THE MIDST OF A HORRIFIC AND FRIGHTENING SCENARIO. REPORTING LIVE THIS MORNING FROM CINCINNATI POLICE HEADQUARTERS, RICHARD CHILES WLWT NEWS FIVE. ALL RIGHT, RICHARD, THANK YOU. ALSO, NEW THIS MORNING. THREE PEOPLE ARE WITHOUT A HOME AFTER A HOUSE FIRE IN MADISONVILLE. IT BROKE OUT SHORTLY AFTER 11 LAST NIGHT ON BRAMBLE AVENUE NEAR WATTERSON STREET AND THE CINCINNATI FIRE DEPARTMENT SAYS FIREFIGHTERS FACED HEAVY SMOKE. CREWS QUICKLY SEARCHED THAT HOUSE. THEY DID NOT FIND ANYONE INSIDE. THEY WERE ABLE TO CONTAIN THE FIRE TO THE BASEMENT AND KNOCK IT DOWN. NO ONE WAS HURT, BUT AN ADULT AND TWO CHILDREN ARE BEING ASSISTED BY THE RED CROSS. THE CAUSE
