Avanti House Secondary School in Stanmore rated ‘Outstanding’ in latest Ofsted inspection

Avanti House Secondary School in Stanmore has been rated ‘Outstanding’ in all areas following its most recent Ofsted inspection, held on 10 June 2025.

The state-funded Hindu-faith school, which was named a Top 3 Finalist in last year’s World’s Best School Award, received top marks from inspectors who praised the school’s culture of learning and academic achievement.

In their report, Ofsted inspectors noted: “There is a palpable love of learning. Pupils are tenacious in the face of challenge. Their commitment to their learning is unwavering. Pupils perform exceptionally well, in their work across subjects, and in national assessments at the end of their time at school.”

They also praised the curriculum, stating: “The curriculum pupils learn is ambitious, engaging and extends beyond what is expected nationally.”

Principal Simon Arnell said: “The Avanti House community is immensely proud to have received recognition from our Ofsted inspection that the school is developing spiritually compassionate changemakers. This is our purpose as a school. The foundations of The Avanti Way — in relation to our virtues and beliefs — could be seen throughout the inspection. These values are lived by our families, students and staff and it is that reflection which is the most important element and one which is key to outstanding judgements.”

Meanwhile, Avanti House Primary School also received praise following an ungraded (section 8) inspection on 20 May 2025. The school maintained its ‘Good’ rating, with inspectors suggesting it could now be considered ‘Outstanding’ if a graded inspection were carried out.
